Great Wisdom (from someone I never thought I'd say that about)

Tonight I was driving to pick up our takeout and listening to a National Public Ratio interview with Joan Rivers.

While I like NPR, I have to admit that listening to Terry Gross always makes me smirk a bit because the old "Saturday Night Live" public radio sketches absolutely must have been based on her uber-calm voice.  So when you combine that with the edge of Joan Rivers (both in voice and personality) and you have an interview.  So there I sat listening in the parking lot.

I have never been a huge Joan Rivers fan.  But as I listened to the interview I was struck by how much more I liked her in an interview than I do on stage (or by all means on the red carpet or on reality TV).

And then she said something.  I quickly jotted it down into Twitter to remember it:

One of those ton or bricks of moments for me.

Never did I think I'd quote Joan Rivers.  But she is so very, very right.

My parents often use the expression: Life can make you bitter or life can make you better.

Wednesday was a day I kept finding myself embroiled in the drama of the day.  People, relationships, you name it.

I didn't laugh enough.  I didn't just get over it.

Tomorrow I will.

I will be better.  Not bitter.
