Catchy generic name, don't you think?
But here is the idea. We could come in as common consultants who just tell companies if their idea is a good marketing idea or bad one. I'm not talking complex analytics. Or great strategy. Or measurable results.
Just a good gut check. Does that campaign even make sense? Are you being offensive? Or just plain stupid? Are parents going to hate you for that? Are kids going to laugh at you?
Perhaps these guys should hire us, because checking in Facebook the other day, this ad caught my eye.
What in the world?
So here you go. My Common Woman's Marketing Analysis. For free, cause I am generous like that:
1. There is nothing about this guy that looks like he is either busy (doing anything legal that is) or really wanting to go back to school.
2. This is clearly a mug shot. Can he go to the virtual school from prison?
3. If you have to use his mug shot, you might consider putting him in a shirt first.
4. How are you going to target this? Because it's pretty straightforward in my Facebook profile that I have a college degree. So you might want to rethink your audience segments.
5. I generally wore clothes when thinking about college classes.
6. Then again, if the point that you are making is that you can stay home and get your degree, perhaps the no shirt thing works.
7. It's still a mug shot. Very few people will identify with that, or if they do, they won't want to identify with that.
8. But if you insist on going this route. Perhaps you should first check to make sure prisons don't block Facebook.
