How to Make the Perfect Martini (sort of)

I'd like to share with you how to make the perfect martini.

Or, this could also be titled: Do as I say, Not as I do.

Here we go.

Chill the glasses.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

Then add 3-parts Hendrinck's gin.  (I say "parts" because then you can decide how big those parts will be...)

Then add 1 part Ketel One vodka.

Finally, add in 1/2 part Lillet.

Add together in a lovely etched glass cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.

Pour into the chilled martini glasses.

Then, be sure to take the cocktail shaker away from your goofy date (especially if your date is me).  Because, inevitably, she will pretend to dance and shake every last drop out of it (hey there is a reason it's a good martini, this stuff is expensive) and in doing so, she will drop it and do this.

So maybe don't shake it quite that vigorously.

Make sure no shards of glass landed in your glasses, realize you are bleeding, make sure there is no glass in the wound, put a bandaid on your finger, add your favorite garnish (olives, onions, cucumber slices, lemon) and enjoy.
