My mom is on the mend. The boys managed to come through their first official snowboarding excursion unscathed (both Caleb and Noah and Brian and my brother-in-law, Tom, too.). The healthy girls were treated to a massage today. Despite windchills topping -45, we all stayed warm. And I actually had time to play with the kids and make a dent in needlepointing Eli's stocking (nope, I am not very domestic or crafty, but this is one this I have done for all the boys).
All in all, a great get away. But it's time to leave the sleeper sofas and pack and pays behind and get back to life. Back to better beds coupled with earlier mornings. Back to warmer cold temps couples with having to go out in them. Back to a full closet of non-frumpy clothes coupled with having to admit post-holidays, that, they don't fit so well. Back to, for better or worse, reality. And head off into 2010.
But not before I make the caramel rolls for tomorrow's breakfast.

Glad you had a good time. You write so well, you are so descriptive. It brings back memories of our trips too. Have a safe trip home!
It's always so hard to get back to real life after a trip! Also, I freak out when I see some of the temps you guys have in the winter! I grew up in TX and am currently living in the AZ desert, so I can't fathom it being that cold! I'm a wimp when it comes to that.
Happy Trails to you! Hoping you arrive safely home.
