But through a combination of boredom with a repetitive program, having too much to do in life in genera;, and having other things to write about, respectively, I just haven't updated.
So for those of you who asked, here goes.
The 30 Day Shred
I should be on about day 18 here. Really, I am on more like day 14 because through a combination of life getting busy, some boredom with the routine, some "Oh my, level 2 is so hard I am not sure I can do it" and some issues with my own need for immediate gratification, I have skipped a few days.
I did move on to level two and it's hard. This is no surprise to anyone who knows me, but I am a wimp. I don't really have any muscles, and so this one is beating me up. However, the past few days I am back at it and am pushing myself.
My kids are fascinated by the concept of "Mom working out" and keep begging to watch. There is no way in the world I will let them do that and have told them as much. Which only makes them want to watch more. The other night as he was heading upstairs, Caleb called out, "Please Mom? Can we just watch a little bit? We promise we won't make fun of you." Um no. That would be the answer right there. Cause let me tell you, if I were watching me, I would make fun of me.
That said, I am down 6 pounds and about an inch and a half off my waist. So I am making progress. But as I mentioned earlier, I have the patience of a gnat, so this slow and steady thing is always a struggle for me.
Onward.
My 500 Pound Declutter Challenge
Yes. Now that I have tackled some of the major eyesores around here, I have tried to limit my major decluttering to weekends during Eli's nap. Hmmmm, he's napping now. And I am not working. Aaagh, guilt. That said, I did finish the main corner of the storage room last weekend, so I'll try to get that post up later this weekend.
Eating Through the Pantry
Yup, have also continued that one.
Originally I had thought I would share the creative recipes I was coming up with to use things up. Who was I kidding? Helloooo Molly, it's still you we're talking about.
Let's face it, when you get home at 5:30 and have the three boys with you alone. You are not all about creativity. You are about opening cans and pouring them in a pan. And that is what we have had.
Best way to sum it up is what I said to Brian the other night.
"We may not have had the best meals this past month, but when I got our credit card bill, I sure felt like it was worth it. The bill was about $600 less than it usually is."Now granted all of that wasn't grocery savings, we have been tightening our belt elsewhere, too. But as of today, we have only spent $124 on groceries for the month. And for our family of 5, that's something I feel pretty good about.
So there you have it. The not-so-exciting updates. But I promised I'd share them. And now I have.
And now Eli is awake after a far-too-short nap and I am off...
