When Secular and Sacred Meet, Something's Gotta Give

Just a funny moment last night.  No not funny.  Probably more accurate to call it one of those gut busting, I" haven't laughed that long in ages," moments.

I was tending to my burned hand and trying to clean up the kitchen with the one available hand.  Eli was playing with a small kid's manger set that he loves.  He had picked up the shelter structure and was carrying it around the house talking about the "Ba-bee."

The big boys suddenly realized that the original "Grinch" was on TV.  They have been searching for this all season and never seem to hit just the right moment.  So when the found it, euphoria erupted in the house and then went dashing downstairs to the big TV.

Now Eli, of course, has no idea who or what the Grinch is, but must have figured if his brothers were that excited, it must be good.

He went running over to the top of the basement stairs to follow them down.  But then seemed to realize that he was still toting the manger.  So he ran back to us, pulled his arm back and tossed, no make that launched the manger across the room breaking it into bits.

"All done!  Bye bye!" he yelled and headed down stairs.

Evidently, Eli is going the secular route this Christmas.
