Each Saturday morning, the big boys wake up, usually at about 7:00 a.m. and head downstairs to catch some inane Saturday morning cartoons. However, Eli beat them to the punch this morning, waking up with his daily requests for a cereal bar ("Bah") and milk ("Miwk"). So while Brian got ready for work, I headed downstairs for some early morning quality Eli time.
We came downstairs and the tree lights ("oooohhh yights") were on and Eli asked me to turn on the fire (even though it's awfully convenient, there still is something so odd about "turning on the fire..."). By saying, "Hot? On? Yah!"
So I sat on the couch and Eli played and looked at the tree and marched around saying, "Santa? Yah! Ho ho hoooo."
It was so cute, I thought I'd try to get a photo. But lowlight, non-expert photographer and a toddler on the move and this is what you get. The ghost of Eli.
Let's try that again.
About that time the big "brudders" came down and it turned into the routine Saturday morning.
All three boys head to the kitchen floor and opened up poptarts ("Pop-tees" in Eli's world) and enjoyed a processed breakfast item while watching a cartoon.
Again, the ghost of Eli. Okay, will have to use the flash.
Evidently, whatever cartoon was on was very disconcerting to Caleb. Having caught a fair amount of Saturday morning programming myself these days, I don't blame him.
That said, even though they are eating a horribly processed, high sugar breakfast item and watching Japan-imation or something along those lines, I do love seeing the brudders sitting there on the floor each week starting a kid tradition that they will look back on.

Love your decorated house!
Let me guess, the boys aren't allowed to have food out of the kitchen!?
Right, Britta, we call that "eating on the wood."
